My goal was to make these presets truly unique and give them my signature sound, so I experimented with recording my own Impulse Responses, to capture the sonic character of all the analog gear that I use (mics, pedals, rooms, amps) and incorporated them into the presets. What you get is a combination of warm vintage tones with an experimental twist. The patches were mostly made for a dry guitar input, but they work well on keys as well (Rhodes, Wurlitzer etc.)
What is Impulse Response?
An Impulse Response (IR) is an audio file that captures the sonic characteristics of an acoustic environment or a piece of gear. It can be used to model the sound of specific guitar cabinets, microphones or even reverbs. For this pack I have created some original IRs from various guitar pedals, rooms, speakers etc. and incorporated them into Archetype Cory Wong. However, these IR files can also be used with any Convolution Plugin and are not limited to their use in Archetype, so feel free to experiment!
